A couple is engaged to be married but getting to the wedding is harder than expected as social and personal issues torment the peace between the two. 1992 India Hindi-language Family Drama Film The film follows the lives of Raj and Pooja who are engaged to be married. Raj is a successful businessman who loves Pooja but he also has a secret affair with another woman named Shalini. Pooja is a simple and innocent girl who trusts Raj but she also has a past that haunts her. She was raped by her uncle when she was a child and she never told anyone about it. When Raj finds out about Pooja's trauma he feels guilty and tries to break up with Shalini. However Shalini is obsessed with Raj and threatens to expose his affair to Pooja and his family. Raj and Pooja face many challenges and obstacles in their relationship such as family pressure social stigma and personal doubts. They have to overcome their fears and insecurities and learn to trust and love each other. The film was directed and written by B.R. Ishara who was an Indian film director and screenwriter best known for his films of the 1970s. He made 35 Bollywood films between 1964 and 1996. He was known for his bold and controversial themes such as sexuality adultery prostitution rape and feminism. Mangni was one of his last films before he died in 2012.
