I really don't see what all the hype is about...i found the movie terribly disappointing and absurd. It was also predictable at times: I could tell where the plot was going from time to time almost from the beginning. Barring the ludicrous science behind the film, the entire story feels like the cathartic relief of a BLM filmmaker and as such comes off as preachy and self serving. if this is Black militants' cinematic revenge on Whitey for racism it fails in many respects, because it comes off as amateurish and fails to make any sort of real point other than the moral of "don't go into strange lands with strange White Women." If you check out the deleted scenes you will get confirmation that the director had a political bias from one scene (out of many excruciatingly similar ending scenes) where the comic relief makes a Trump joke that hits as successfully as you'd expect. (For the record i am no Trump supporter.) If you want to score social justice points with your libtard friends, by all means gush all over this film. Or you can be like me: rent it, loathe it, regret renting it, and review it appropriately. 1 star for originality, -4 stars for everything else.
