As the final book of this series, it has been wonderful to see the progression of the characters and the fascinating 'what if' of another world where history is almost the same but not quite because of dragons. My only quibble is that though the story goes into a great deal of detail about the circumstances and battles waged earlier on, the final, most important, battle, and it's consequences to the lives of the main characters is given very few pages, indeed. It almost seems like the writer perhaps realized that the book was getting long and wanted to wrap it up as quickly as possible. Still a good and enjoyable read though it didn't tie everything up neatly with a bow.
