Loved The Kitchen House, so was excited to see a sequel come out. Enjoyed this one as well. Didn't remember much about Jamie from the first book, but liked him in this book, flaws and all. Part of the book is Jamie's backstory, and the other part is his rescue of Pan from the slave traders. Good supporting characters, too - little Pan who is a ray of sunshine, Robert the dedicated servant and friend, teenaged Addie who is a force to be reckoned with. A good family drama type story with adventure and intrigue. Recommend.
