This is the best one of the series so far. It tied up so many loose ends from book three and finally brought some of the characters together. The encounter between Aelin and Manon was my favorite part, where these two badass women finally come together and meet. Especially after we have been following their story for so long. The character development was great and the anticipation leading up to the final battle and even the trials before that were awesome. That said, I still think this book was too long. There were many moments I felt could have been cut. I understand it is Maas's style to give detail and have slow development but there were some moments where I was struggling with the plot, begging it to move along. Also the slow burn between Rowan and Aelin was torture, but a good torture. Overall, this was my favorite book in the Throne of Glass series. I am excited to see how the characters and the plot continue to develop and expand. I'm anxious to see how all these threads tie up together.
