I like Chris Bohjalian. This book has an exciting premise and tells an intriguing story. The characters are well developed. But I was extremely disappointed with the ending. SPOILER ALERT Is it really believable that the main character, a married guy in the suburb with a child, who held a bachelor party in his house that went seriously awry, would at the end allow this prostitute to visit his home again and the two sit at the kitchen table with the wife set to return home any minute? It was just preposterous that the guy would do this and try to gain help from the wife to help this prostitute. If anybody else has an enlightened take on this ending, I'd love to hear it.
