I am still reading this book and wanted to write a comment as I am so enjoying it.
Great read. Believable quirky characters. Author Lianne Moriarty has her characters cope with important issues such as post natal depression and aging in a believable real way. Interesting plot and setting.
I laughed out loud at the 3 women in their colourful clothing tearing round the island on their scooters. The character who collects her friends dirty washing and returns it clean and folded in a quiet unassuming way.
I love the way the author draws you into her characters uncensored thoughts about themselves and others on the island; and how these characters deal with their situations.... the mother who steps away from her baby to slap herself; the pain is ' exquisite' then she gathers herself and pastes on a smile in the hallway then back to the baby to continue on with her responsibilities like all good women and 'good mothers'
I am waiting to learn the mystery of the disappearing parents and have my theories as to what has happened.
Looking forward to reading more of this author's work.
