Really insightful! It should be noted that this book is written through storytelling, not instruction and about dog psychology and not training. The way this book is written seems like an extension to the tv show- Dog Whisperer. Cesar recalls several cases from the show and maybe explains the issues he helped with in more depth (I read the book recently- several years after the show was over and watched a few episodes on Hulu...okay, more than a few). Cesar also reminds readers that he is a professional and some of his strategies are not for owners; and he works off of his own instincts (again, we’re not talking dog training). As I watched some of the episodes, I remembered he arrives to each client’s house with no prior knowledge about the human or the dog’s “issues” which reiterates he is working off of energy and instincts. Overal, the best book for learning about the way your dog thinks and acts in many situations and how we encourage bad behavior, often indirectly by humanizing our dogs and giving affection at the wrong time.
