Silicon Valley is a dramatic sitcom. It can't decide if it wants to be a sitcom or a drama. The techies portrayed in this series are weak & bungling idiots. This is not Mash or All in the Family. It is good for a laugh. I watched both DVD's of season Two. Didn't not see any other seasons. I give Silicon Valley 2 and half out of five.
Very good series very funny! With great writing and acting!
This series is the most cleverly written satire on TV. Each show riffs on a few themes that somehow all tie together with finesse at the end of each episode, the mark of good writing. The characters are (sometimes outrageous) caricatures and stereotypes, but somehow believable especially the engineers and coders. Shrewd in its observations about the fleeting and not necessarily meritocratic nature of success in Silicon Valley, it's also profane, intelligent, tragic, gleeful, and LOL hilarious. "Magic", says Jared in the last episode as the servers over-heat while streaming compressed video to millions. Truly it is.
I agree, this season is even better than the first. Created by Mike Judge of "Office Space" and "Beavis and Butthead," this is one of the funniest and most astute shows on TV. The cast is terrific and they really nail (and critique) the tech milieu and corporate speak.
This season is even funnier than the last which is something that shouldn't be possible. There is so much care put in to the writing and it really shows. Definitely the best comedy on television right now and it would take an absolute juggernaut to outdo this show.
