I really am enjoying this book and don't have problem with time line as I have in other books written like this. I highly recommend it. Being from an era where the circus still was "King!" I LIKED THE PART AT Beginning set in the 1893 Chicago Expedition being an IL. native. Deeanne Gist has done several around "the fair"!

A story “ cousue de fil blanc “ , utterly predictable. Ms. Cambron fails to intrigue the reader although the subject of the novel (the backstage workings of the Ringling Brothers travelling Circus) could have been a mine of interesting discoveries but the characters are stereotypes , the events too melodramatic . Also the timeline doesn’t help, this going back and forth between 1906 & 1929 is confusing and totally unnecessary.
