I have watch this classic so many times. I think I may even enjoy it a bit more than others because of my age. I remember seeing some of the cars that was presented in the movie as a child. Then again in my teens when I got into cars. There use to be a cruise night which I would attend at times where a group of people who were into cars would have these old classics like a 1963 T bird, 1970 Chevelle, or the 1932 Ford Deuce coupe with a rumble seat. I also remembered during my teens how a group of us would all get our cars and drive up and down Main St. and back on King St. in a circle where some guys would drag each other at the lights. Watching the movie brought so many memories back to me not to mention the restaurants that serve you at your car. This was done before the take out window started and became so popular. Believe it was an AW root beer restaurant that had this type of service when I was a child. The story of just trying to figure out life at that age where you have finished high school and not sure about your future or what next step you should take is what the movie is about. The ending of one ERA is also represented in the movie. I think this movie would appeal to the car buffs and older people then the young as the computers tend to have change things. How many younger people these days would want a 1970 Cutlass 442 or even a 1970 Chevell not to mention the 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe, they would probably want that Honda Civic souped up instead. I enjoyed the movie and I have seen it before many times.

Easily George Lucas’ best movie.

This movie's really dull and boring. Who cares about watching loud vehicles driving down the road. And the plot of escaping the small town is so jejune. This movie doesn't hold up very well at all, it's terribly mundane and I never want to see it ever again.

American Graffiti meets Happy Days, has almost the same cast. This is a great coming of age film that belongs with Stand By Me & The Breakfast Club.

Portions filmed in downtown San Rafael, Marin County, California. Worth watching just for that!

Classic. This film takes you back to the time period before political correctness and big business climate change ruined things for America. It tells one night of high school kids graduating, cruising the strip in their hot rods and listening to Wolf Man Jack playing great music on the radio. A bygone era and a great movie!

I know this movie is a big deal but it's not a favorite of mine. It's okay but I just don't find it that interesting.

Great cast, great cars and great music. One of my all-time favorites.

Deft direction, wonderful acting, and the greatest soundtrack ever are the reasons why this remains my all-time favorite film. The end credits list JANE as being portrayed by Ann Kemper. She later became known as Kay Lenz. The music is recorded for the film and produced by Kim Fowley, of course. YEA, BABY, YEA!!

An excellent film on a bunch of kids who just finished high school and were pondering the next phase of their lives. Excellent sound tracks from the groups of the 60's and 70's, including The Platters. A great walk back to the past by babyboomers like me. Enjoyable.
