A really low standard in thriller writing with wafer-thin characters that the reader could care less about and a plot that defies logic and plain common sense. The writers did go to the trouble of making sure of the right locations for landmarks (e.g., Palais Garnier is in the 9th arrondissement). I'll give Patterson one more try but if this is the best that the world's best-selling writer can do then heaven help us.

A very good summer read. Based on today's news stories. Gripping.

Private Paris by James Patterson is something that reads right out of the news headlines: terrorism and characters that are predjudice against Muslims. The story is interesting and a page turner. But, very long. I really couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this story.

Another Jack Morgan book...this time in Paris. This time he gets in trouble with the law-this place doesn't take kindly to vigil antes. course, like the other books, nothing stops or prevents Jack from solving the issues of the day.

Love Patterson. This is pretty typical for him. Nothing new.

Mark Sullivan, who apparently works in the James Patterson factory, is an awful writer. Amateurish, clumsy, and juvenile. I made it thru about one third and then returned it to the library.

It was a bit slow at first but then couldn't put it down. Waiting for the next one.

I agree that this was too slow, unlike the other Private series. I had a hard time following the plot.

I agree it was a bit slow moving. Looking forward to the next installment.

I also found this book slow moving. It sure was not one of Patterson's finest. Too many characters, too many land marks with too many difficult names to try to decipher. I had a very difficult time keeping interested in the book and sometimes had to go back and read part of a chapter to remember where I was.

Three stories wound together and one of which doesn't not have a happy ending. Does he get the lady he falls for? Does he solve the hate crime revolution? Does he find the girl who doesn't want to be found? Read and find out in a way only James Patterson can create.
