Frightening or Intense Scenes: The most emotionally disturbing scenes are of a movie theater full of dead people who were driven mad and killed each other, and a school that trains young girls into violent assassins.

Sexual Content: Frequent but mild innuendo, particularly in reference to one characters serial womanizing. A woman wears provocative clothing and trades double entendres in an attempt to seduce information from a mob boss. A woman kisses another to distract her.

Violence: Numerous scenes of hand to hand combat. A few bloody wounds. Pools and smears of blood on the floor. Explosions and other sci-fi deaths. One brief but disturbing scene shows a group of movie-goers driven insane and attacking one another.

It is hard to believe that this show was not strikingly successful, considering the excellent performances and strong storyline. I suppose it was just a little too much of a British spy series with not enough explosions for the average Marvel fan, and yet a little too sic-fi for fans of slick spy movies.

All the same, I loved it. The 1940s setting had a fun throwback feel, and Peggy's character remains wonderful. There was good social commentary on the difficulties she faced as a woman working in a potentially dangerous job, but she handles it with characteristic Marvel toughness while still being feminine and relatable as a role model for girls and women. Way to go, Hayley Atwell.
