Uneven and sometimes pointless movie with good actors and SFX. However, despite its flaws, it was entertaining.

Solid family fun. Sort of a Pan origin story. It's got computer graphics and lots of action for those looking for surface-level satisfaction. The filmmakers end up doing a good job keeping those with deeper demands interested by creating a thick atmosphere of anticipation and suspense pertaining to Peter becoming Pan. The main problem with the movie, in my mind, is the apparent developing romance between Tiger Lily and Hook. This was mostly poorly executed, and also absolutely not important or needed to any degree. A good movie does not need a romance.

If you expect and wish to see the original, the older versions of Peter Pan story lines, DON'T WATCH this movie.
Otherwise, this movie is an alternate fantasy and it's quite good IMHO.

One of the very first lines in the movie is to forget everything from ever knew about Peter Pan because this was a story that has never been told. So with that in mind as I watched the movie, it opened my mind to enjoy it.

This movie, while featuring some great actors, just couldn't overcome its really terrible story line.

I didn't expect to like that movie but I really did.

This is more of an alternate universe version of Peter Pan than a prequel.
The plot shows Peter meeting most of the characters we are familiar with but ... Most of the traditional "bad guys" - Captain Hook etc. - are reimagined as good guys. We will need another story to explain how the good guy Hook becomes the bad guy we all know and love to hate. If you are only interested in Pan stories that don't contradict the Cannon as written by J. M. Barry then stay away. If you want a fun story inspired by the idea of Peter Pan but different you might enjoy this.

This was an interesting imagining of how Peter first came to Neverland--and became Peter Pan as we know him--as well as how he became connected with Captain Hook, Smee, Tinkerbell, and Tiger Lily. It was entertaining to have "aha" moments as the creators connected the dots with the familiar Peter Pan story. Those who enjoyed "A Knight's Tale" will likely enjoy the similar vibe of this one, complete with anachronistic musical interludes.

"Overall, the movie wasn’t as bad as I heard. I didn’t really read or watch any reviews so this isn’t influenced. I mean, it’s not great but it had potential. They should have taken more care in casting Tiger Lily, Hedlund should have let the Jackman impression go and do his own thing, the CGI was pretty bad..."

I didn't realize that this is the alternate universe version of Peter Pan while I was watching it from the beginning. Before I saw this, I always thought this is a midquel between "Kensington Gardens" and the original source. After watching it, I'm like... yeah, what a good show. Although I found the pirates singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Blitzkrieg Bop" funny, I understand that to me, it looks more like a pro-new Disney version of it except... where's the canon in the characters and everything else?! It must've been thrown out of the window for some reason. Other than that, it was encouragingly recommended for Good Charlotte fans like me.

I LOVED it. It was so different from all the other Peter Pan movies. The dude who played Hook tried to do an impression of a young Harrison Ford. pretty entertaining.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Tiger Lily shows Peter memories, which show Blackbeard and the other pirates in battle as dark cloud-like shapeless figures with glowing red eyes that may scare younger viewers. Also creepy looking "Never-Birds", which basically look like bug-eyed bird-shaped skeletons with a couple giant feathers stuck on.
