Handsome, widowed, sophisticated, utterly charming, Paul Parker won the heart of a wealthy young Frenchwoman--the daughter of an American financier, the granddaughter of a major French art dealer--as his second wife. In two marriages, he fathered a challenging son and three very different daughters. But as irresponsible as he was irresistible, he ultimately shrugged off the demands of marriage and parenting to pursue life as an international bon vivant.

Read three pages, and I was bored to tears. Could not go any further. Three pages of endless detail about somebody planning funeral details. Where is the entertainment? The author must get paid by the word.

It took me a lot longer to read this book than any other of Danielle Steel's. I don't know why though. I go thru periods where I'm not into reading so I would put it down and pick it up here and there.
This book was well written but it took awhile to get to the thick of the plot. Amazing ending! Just beautiful!
