I personally will not read this book to the little girl I nanny for, or my daughter. I don't think a child should be taught that doctors doing strange things is okay. As the book said "Dr. Jan did some strange things, But she didn't hurt me one bit!" I just don't think that this is appropriate.

Young children can really relate to this book since they also need to go to the doctor periodically for checkups.

This book shows a young child a gentle picture of going to the doctor through the eyes of a dog. Brief emotions are portrayed, and very well done.
