Finch is a frustrating protagonist - saddled eternally with the brain of a 17-year-old, he never grows up and stops making terrible teenage-boy decisions. He's also just not a terribly likable person. It wasn't until Part Four, set during WWI, that I actually started to care about him at all.

If you're looking for a quick read, a fast-paced adventure, or romance, this isn't it. But if you want to try something a little different, and have the patience for a long, slow read, this might be worth a try. I'm glad I picked it up.

This is the single weirdest book I have ever read.
