I love Stephen King, but some of these stories were a bit bland. My favorite was Morality.

Fantastic and would recommend. However, I have read several of his collections and I would agree that some of the stories contained in this collection needed a little more "edge" or excitement. Still has several stand out stories and is worth the read!

Good but not great - as one commenter said, "needed more with teeth."

Quirky and odd! Just the way I like them!

There are some stories that stand out really well for me "Mile 81", "Afterlife" to name two specifically. Some fall into so-so territory. Nothing is terrible by any means - Stephen King has been going so long for a reason - but it was an alright entry of his in comparison to other short story collections he's done.

Wanted to like this more. Have I outgrown SK? Not sure. I wanted more stories with teeth, I guess. SK hits the same notes, and they're good notes, but the repetition of them gets tedious. Pet peeve: his habit of adding sentences that add nothing but tedium to the narrative. A good case of familiarity breeding contempt: he always brings the same things to the table, which is comforting I guess. Personal fave: Night Shift.

Pretty good collection here by Stephen King!

Ur is one of the best stories on here, especially if you are a fan of the Dark Tower saga!

King seems to be writing more about his feelings about aging and death than anything else. Not as good as his other story anthologies.

I enjoyed reading this book. As others have already said the collection of stories are odd. I like that he gave short background for each of these stories like what he was thinking which stories reminded him of people he knew and/or met. My favorite story was "the obituary." I couldn't help but laugh at the witty writing.

I was disappointed by this collection. I like my King to be dark and twisty; many of the stories in this collection are variations on a theme, e.g. parallel universe, bad luck, which King has done before. OK as an introduction, I still prefer the collection "Skeleton Crew"
