When an author tries to tell two separate love stories within one book, one or both can feel diminutive. In Again the Magic, Kleypas manages to create two distinct romances that are both evocative and compelling. While Livia's story was secondary to Aline's, I personally found it more emotionally moving. I loved the hero's honesty about his demons and his desire to conquer them. McKenna and Aline's story was definitely satisfying, I just struggled with the withholding of information at different times. Overall, it was a great prequel to the Wallflowers Series.
okay, but I've read better stories by her.
My first Lisa Kleypas book! I gather from the internet that this isn't considered one of her best, but I still thought this was a fairly decent effort, although the main romance was a bit melodramatic, and I actually thought the secondary romance was more interesting. I'm excited to read some of her other, more highly regarded stuff, since I thought this was a pretty good effort as it was.
