I just finished reading this short middle-grade novel, packed with meaning, about how children on an imaginary planet (that closely resembles Earth) are encouraged by a visiting alien to begin enjoying more than their share of their planet’s resources in a life of complete self-indulgence. When they learn that their actions are causing increasing suffering for kids on the other side of the planet who now have nothing – kids they never knew existed – they have some tough choices to make. A great story, sure to get kids (and adults) thinking about stewardship and justice. (submitted by CM)
