The book's a little tough to keep track of if you're listening to the audio version. There's about a dozen names you have to remember and connections from cases dating as far back as two decades to properly categorize plus new information from the current case. Also, there's a lot of references from previous books which is Brennan's MO. I've read her other series starters and they're always a little hard to digest with the info dump initially. But it's all worth it in the end.
