This is the very first Amish book I have ever read and the first of many of Shelley Gray's novels that I have read. At first I wasn't expecting much but in it's subtle, down-tearth and beautiful way I began to really love it! All her books are so cute and they let you feel what the character is feeling COMPLETELY. Her writing style is simple yet so strong. I just love Lucy and Calvin SO much. They are such a great pair. The Protector was only ok to me. The Survivor my library doesn't have it so I have to buy it but it will be well worth it because I know I'll love it and Graham x Maddie = perfect ship!
