" The catchy but unfulfilling MY BRAVE FACE was released in May 1989." "Cynthia hoped for a second honeymoon with John." "Ritchie went round the band telling his friends individually that he was leaving, because he didn't feel he was playing well, and he felt out of things, whereas 'you three are really close.' John replied that he thought it was the other three who were close. Paul said the same, while George had always been justified in feeling ignored by Paul and John. In short, all four Beatles now felt isolated and miserable. It didn't stop them from continuing work on the WHITE ALBUM in Ringo's absence, Paul playing the drums on BACK IN THE USSR., and on DEAR PRUDENCE."

lots of detail, you can tell the author did his research. At times, I enjoyed the stories and points of view of people who are close with Paul (like family members) but overall, I didn't really like the way it was written; it seemed sort of flat. (But then again, I may be bias since I already know a lot about Paul's life).

Kind of touches on why he is an ego driven a$%^hole.

The focus is on McCartney's amazing life. Lots of engrossing, well-documented material.
