How is tonight different from all other nights? For Jacob Rappaport, a Jewish soldier in the Union army, it is a question his commanders have answered for him: on Passover in 1862 he is ordered to murder his own uncle, who is plotting to assassinate President Lincoln. After that night, will Jacob ever speak for himself? The answer comes when his commanders send him on another mission - this time not to murder a spy but to marry one.

my first book by this author - really good story on a different twist in the Civil War. Anxious to read her other books.

I love Dara Horn's writing! She adds just enough mystery, just enough romance and just enough humor to her historical fiction that I'd willingly stay up all night reading anything she writes. This book is a completely new tack on the Civil War: the main character is a Jewish spy for the North, but he has family in the Suoth, so naturally he has some difficult choices to make. How Jacob resolves this dilemma is something you won't soon forget.
