This was the first book on the Song of Alaska series, and it was a good book to start with. It has the perfect amount of romance, suspense, and adventure wrapped up in one. I couldn't wait to start the second book:)

Other than what I think was an impossible way to go through labour, I really enjoyed the book and thought that the book flowed really well. While I haven't had amnesia, I have heard of when amnesia has completely changed a person's personality and it probably also can rob a person of their memories to the point where they have to ask people about things about their likes and dislikes. It was a nice quick read when in the middle of some very dense books.

lots of dramatic action, evil characters, prevailing goodnes, and triumph. Appeals to a pioneer/love story/history reader who desires a slight change in reading material but still wants to enjoy the wholeness of that kind of story. Set in an interesting location.
