The Canfield Historical Society, in cooperation with the Canfield Library and America250, is proud to present a special lecture titled, "A Journey of Faith: 200 Years and Counting in Canfield."
Canfield's religious roots run deep--beginning in private homes and then a log cabin schoolhouse during the early days of frontier settlement. In 1804, just six years after Canfield Township was established by six original landowners, the First Congregational Church was formally organized with guidance from missionary Rev. Joseph Badger. Over the last two centuries, Canfield has seen the evolution of its spiritual life through the growth and transformation of its many houses of worship.
This engaging lecture will trace the rich, and at times surprising, religious history of Canfield. Join Suzy McCabe, President of the Canfield Historical Society, and Laura Zeh, Historical Society Curator, as they lead attendees through a compelling exploration of Canfield's faith-based heritage, offering insight into the people, places, and events that have shaped the community's spiritual landscape.
This program is part of the national America250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with Canfield's enduring legacy.
